At 8.5 pounds, the KitchenAid Tri-Ply Roaster is heavy and when you’ve got a big turkey in it, it can be a little tough getting it in and out of the oven. Of course, there are some downsides to having a big roasting pan, the two main things being weight and storage. Since it’s so large, we were even able to make a gravy in it when placed over two burners. We had no issues with space and found that it was perfectly sturdy when moving it in and out of the oven. No matter how large your holiday ham or turkey is, this 16 x 13-inch pan will be sure to fit it. Some roasting pans aren’t big enough or sturdy enough, and they give a little bit when moved. One thing we love about this roasting pan is how big it is. Being able to use a roaster at a higher temperature comes in handy when you’re cooking foods that need to retain their moisture. This is an advantage over cheaper pans, which often have a lower temperature limit of 400 to 450 degrees. The KitchenAid Roaster is oven safe up to 500 degrees. We loved this feature and didn’t have any issues with hot spots. This structure helps distribute heat evenly, making sure your roasts cook consistently throughout.
